The nominations for this year’s STAR awards were announced this weekend, and The Reel Thing has been recognised in 3 categories!
1. Best Specialist Show
2. Best Solo Show
3. Best Listener Interaction Show
It was a very pleasant surprise and it is really an honour considering how amazing working on the show this past year has been. A big part of it has been my faithful listeners and followers, so a very big thank you to everyone who has listened to the show or read this blog over the past couple of months.
This year there is also the opportunity for the audience to nominate their favourite show for the People’s Choice award. Now though it would be absolutely darling of you to nominate The Reel Thing, I ask of you all one small favour….don’t. Or at least also nominate my other show, Follow the Snails, co-hosted with the one and only Matthew McGinlay.

In other news, for the next show (aptly entitled The Reel Thing: Total Requests) I’m going to be giving all the power to the listeners and I will be taking your requests over the course of the next week to make up the playlist. So get thinking of what song from the movies you are dying to hear played live on the show.

Please include what movie or television show the song is from, just in case my immense knowledge fails me for once.
